The Weatherby Bowl

About seven years ago we had a little Thanksgiving day football game. Abby, Kate, Jack, and me. Jack was about four. He could barely catch a 10' pass standing still. It has evolved into something much larger.

Thirty some odd kids of all ages now gather on the beach for the Weatherby Bowl. Talk about it for days before and after. The shot above is part of the participants this year.

Fuzzy Falcons

Had a nice family outing to the Falcons Saints game this past weekend.

The only thing fuzzier than the pic was the decision making of Falcons Coach Mike Smith. Never ever go on fourth and one on your own 29 with 10 minutes left to play in overtime after coming back from a 10 point deficit in the fourth quarter. Call it a rule.

Exercising For Dollars

So I wanted the kids not to be slugs all summer. So I gave them a little challenge. I would pay them a dollar for every continuous sit-up and push-up they could do at the end of the summer. The Saturday before school started was the day. I got a little worried when Kate told me Jack did 186 sit-ups. On the day of reckoning he pumped out 300. Kate 150 all in. Money motivates physical activity. Money well spent for me.

Kate's Early Birthday

So I took Kate bike shopping on Saturday. She is turning 13 in August and we were thinking of getting her a new bike as Jack assumed ownership of her two year old mountain bike. Somewhere along the way she sold me that this was the perfect year for an early birthday present so that she could use it all summer. She is either a good sales person, right, or both.

On Sunday we came home with a shiny new bike. First trip was to the local frozen yogurt shop with her brother.
